Region: Riverland, SA
Colour: Dark purple
Notes: "Montepulciano is an Italian variety creating a new life for itself in the sun-soaked, ancient soils of The Riverland. Harvested from two different patches on the Bassham Family Organic vineyard, about 9 days apart, each pick was fermented separately and blended together just prior to bottling."
Nose: Mirrors the palate, hints at the power and intensity of the wine.
Palate: "The palate opens with a lovely, puckering fruit character, like a basket of freshly picked mixed berries. The finish brings that tannin and those grippy, savoury elements back into play, while the acid keeps the freshness and length going. With dark, brambly fruit, cracking acidity and rustic tannins, it’s a gutsy wine, full of life, love, and plenty of stories to tell."
