Handmade - Wild Yeast Ferment - Unfined - No Enzyme Added -No Acid Added - Barrel Aged on Lees
Once in the winery the grapes were 100% destemmed but not crushed. The ferment was only plunged lightly once a day and gently basket pressed straight to oak after 14 days on skins. Matured on lees for 10 months in French Oak Hogsheads with an average age of 5 years. The soil profile and its propensity to ripen rapidly combined with our intention to produce a Syrah style meant we picked early to ensure a wine of tension and vitality. This Syrah shows spice and pepper on the nose which carries through on the medium bodied palate loaded with red and blue fruits, right in line with the style outcome we so desired. Lightly filtered then hand bottled at our winery. Vegan Friendly.
As with all wines released under the Nomads Garden range input from us in the winery was kept to an absolute minimum.
